A continuous gear hinge consists of two full-height, paired gear aluminum extruded leaves that enable the hinge to rotate evenly from top to bottom. The result is a smooth, clean action which diminishes heavy swing weights by evenly distributing the door load throughout the entire length of the frame. The design of the two interlocking leaves of the hinge serves a variety of functions which include: the elimination of door sag, door alignment problems, warping, allows minimal effort door operation, and reinforces the door and jamb. Continuous hinges also provide safety and security by closing the gap between the door edge and jamb thus preventing pinched fingers.
